On Tuesday, March 17th, we celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day in our school.
It was a very special day as everyone took part … all the students, teachers, nuns and our school priest as well as the administration, kitchen and cleaning staff participated.
The English Department provided everyone with a shamrock to wear for the day.
Saint Patrick is the Patron Saint of Ireland and in the 5th century he converted the pagan Irish people to Christianity. He used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant found in abundance in Ireland, to explain the Holy Trinity – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Today, the shamrock is the national symbol of Ireland.
